Comet - 3D TV Bundle Offer
18 August 2010
Electrical giant Comet is to send sales of 3D TVs rocketing after slashing the price of a bundle - including specs and a Blu-ray player - to just under a grand.
The chain sent shockwaves through the high street by lopping more than £500 off the package - a 40in Samsung, three pairs of specs and a 3D Blu-ray player.
And with the launch of Britain's first 3D channel on Sky just six weeks away, rivals are expected to follow suit.
Comet's £999.99 offer will last until the end of September and it puts the chain way ahead of its competitors. Dixons is offering a 40in Samsung, Blu-ray player and two sets of 3D glasses for £1,278 while the Co-op's online electrical store has the same set for £899.99 but there's no deals on compatible Blu-ray players or glasses.
Bob Darke, Comet's commercial director, says: "Our 3D TV package gives consumers the opportunity to have the complete 3D experience at home."
